Displaced Pelvis

So I felt like I had my sciatic nerve slightly irritated for the last couple of weeks, because when I moved certain directions I would get a sharp pain. Well I have had problems with it before, and so I thought it was strange that it was on the opposite side that I usually have trouble with, and it was going up my back instead of down my leg.
Last night I got up off of the couch and dropped straight to the ground in excruciating pain. Something had to be done. I took a warm bath, used a heating pad, propped my knees up with pillows- everything I could to get some relief except for medication since I'm pregnant. This morning I woke up in worse shape than when I went to bed. I had to have help out of the shower because I couldn't get my leg over the tub wall, and I had to have help with everything getting dressed this morning and putting my shoes on. As soon as I got to work I asked for a referral to see a physical therapist in town to get some relief. We were there for about an hour and a half with him working on me! Heat, elevation, manuevers, manipulation, more stretching, and cold compresses. I left with an SI Joint band and he is ordering me one especially for pregnancy.
When you are pregnant you see, your body releases relaxin which relaxes the muscles of your pelvic girdle. I am evidentally prone to the shift because it started so early in pregnancy. My pelvis was completely rotated and my the tops of my hips were uneven. He described it as two cheese graders stuck together unevenly. If I had let it go much longer my symphis pubis would have popped out of place and then I would be in A LOT MORE pain. Anyways, to make a long story a little shorter I am still in pain- lots of it- but I can walk a little better. I have to wear this belt thing for the duration of my prgnancy, and for about a month afterwards. And I go back a few more times to try and get more relief.

Pregnancy Ticker

10 weeks on Saturday!

So here is the ultrasound we had done on Wednesday at 9 weeks and 4 days. I will be 10 weeks on Saturday and officially roll over each week on Saturdays from now on!
Our due date is January 23rd! So we are really excited!
I had't blogged on here in quite a while honestly because I am absolutely overwhelmed with work and school. Work isn't bad, it is just time away from school work that seems to be encompassing everywaking second. Which every waking second is not enough since I come home from school/work and crash. I fell asleep tonight working on my homework because I was so exhausted. It is definately one of those semesters (between my classes and this pregnancy) that feels like there is no possible way I can get it all done.
As far as pregnancy symptoms go I am feeling pretty good. I have had a few "Battles" with "morning" sickness- though it lasts all day and usually wakes me up at night. I continually have heartburn- you just seem to get used to that. And nothing ever sounds good except KFC mashed potatoes and gravy. I had put on rougly 6.5 pounds- which was too fast for my liking but I was always STARVING. Now since I have gone a few rounds with the porcelin throne I weighed in today at a whopping 1.5 pounds over my initial weight as of May 22nd.
Anyways more about the ultrasound. Everything looked great according to the ultrasound tech that was doing the study she checked everything on the baby from size to heart rate (178 BPM)to my ovaries and for fluid outside of the uterus. Everything looked wonderful and said we were right on track. We go back on July 20th for another look at our little "Cinnamon bear."
As for now I am loaded with homework and while I am still somewhat awake I need to go plug away at it!

7 weeks-ish

So here is the 7 weeks picture! As of right now, I hit my weekly mark on Tuesdays. I will know my for sure due date in less than two weeks!!!

I have been having a mild wave of "morning sickness" all day every day. I am nauseated, but STARVING at the same time. I wake up feeling sick and like I only took a nap when I slept for about 9 hours.

I have a pinched saccral nerve which is probably totally unrelated but it kills to sit in those hard desks.

We announced out pregnancy on Facebook since everyone had already begun commenting on my wall about it!
I ordered Belly Bands on Wednesday since none of my skirts or jeans button up any more. That could be bloating, showing, or I am just fat... :)
We also have a 2 bedroom house! YAY!

Between 6-7 weeks?

Today was my first "rough" day. Overall I just did not feel well. I didn't feel hungry at all and I was exhausted. I started off the day soo jittery and on edge it was rough. I get that way with my cycle though so it wasn't too big of a surprise. It just wears you out fast.
I have a dark blotchy spot on my throat that I noticed about the same day I found out I was pregnant. I am pretty sure it is miasma since they showed up at the same time. It never really bothered me at first, just looked like a dirt smudge, until it showed up in a picture this weekend. That was not pleasant.
Other than that I go from STARVING to TIRED and back again in the blink of an eye, and I will cry over anything and everything. Trying to not let stress get the best of me! Its midterm of my last semester this week!!

1st Prenatal Visit

We went to the Dr. today! Basically what happened was I got the blood preg test done to "verify" pregnancy for insurance purposes. The plan was to use the blood preg to determine exactly how far along I was but the test they ran did not have a narrow enough window. They said that it would give me a quantity but it would not be specific enough to determine week. Anyways, the guess is my due date is January 27th 2010, making me 5 weeks along right now. Which means I still have an ETERNITY to go. :) Or at least that is what it feels like.

I go for my first ultrasound on June 24th where I will be 9 weeks, and we should get to hear the heartbeat. Anyways, those are all of the updates for now!

I feel good today, but I had no idea that sitting behind a desk all day could be soooo tiring. :)
