1st Prenatal Visit

We went to the Dr. today! Basically what happened was I got the blood preg test done to "verify" pregnancy for insurance purposes. The plan was to use the blood preg to determine exactly how far along I was but the test they ran did not have a narrow enough window. They said that it would give me a quantity but it would not be specific enough to determine week. Anyways, the guess is my due date is January 27th 2010, making me 5 weeks along right now. Which means I still have an ETERNITY to go. :) Or at least that is what it feels like.

I go for my first ultrasound on June 24th where I will be 9 weeks, and we should get to hear the heartbeat. Anyways, those are all of the updates for now!

I feel good today, but I had no idea that sitting behind a desk all day could be soooo tiring. :)

About 5 weeks?

I am guessing I am about 5 weeks along. Very Early I know! I hadn't had any "symptoms" except for light cramping (which I thought at first was my period coming) and minor spotting yesterday. Today I had a round with the toilet. My bowels were extremely loose. I am not sick throwing up though which is a blessing!
This week the "embryo" is about the size of an orange seed and a heart the size of a poppy seed. Caleb says it resembles a seal- a verrrry small seal!

Finding Out the Big News

The week prior to May 22nd was an extremely busy one. The upcoming weekend would be Memorial Day, and it was packed with projects and exams due. I was supposed to start my period that Monday, May 18th, but it never came. My cycle had been extremely irregular the month prior so I was not that surprised. On Wednesday I told Caleb I should probably take a pregnancy test since I was now at day 30, and I was never late. Caleb said "its been two days" and we had been using the pill and usually an additional "method" as well so we decided to wait a bit. By Friday the 22nd I still had not started and I was going to schedule an appointment, but I felt I should probably take a test before I show up wondering why my period was irregular.
Sure enough. The test was positive. I was sitting there in shock- in complete disbelief! I was thrilled, but the shock and surprise of everything was overwhelming! We told friends and family this weekend and I am going to try to get in to the Doctor tomorrow (Tuesday). This will definately be a memorable Memorial Day Weekend!
